Follow That Star!

Here is  a transcript of a conversation. I had with The Doc last week.
I was busy weeding out in the garden(or as The Doc likes to put it digging holes)
When he stuck his head round the back door waving something in the air saying.
'You don't want this before I chuck it do you? It's broken and the sucker doesn't work  so no point in keeping it any more!
In the nano second or two that it took to register what the heck he was on about and see the object in question I had a light bulb moment and said
'Yes please I have an Imminent use for that'
'Rather thought you might say that 'came the resigned reply.
'I'll leave it on your desk then '
What was the object in question?
A plastic resin  suction hook for using when on holiday in hotel bathrooms when you need an extra or in most cases even just one place to hang your towel or bath robe from.
The suction cup fails to work after a while and won't stick to the tiles . The Doc had already removed that bit and the metal hook part and this was what was left.
'I can't take the  screw out of the centre cos it's set in the resin ' he said 'So you will have to work round that'.
'Not a problem ' I replied.
Here ia picture of the before . This is the front.

And this is the back showing the screw thread.

Here is what  I made .

I made a simple side opening card which ties closed with bakers twine.
The star was given a coating of tester pot paint 'Natural Hessian'
Then given a liberal coating of Imagination Crafts Sparkling medium in 'Champagne'.
Mounted to front of card using a double layer of 3D sticky pads. (to cushion the screw)
Card stock is fom SU.

Image is by Digi Stamps 4 Joy.
Comes free if you enter their challenge using it.
Finished inside of card.
The star is a stamp that came free with the magazine 'Craft Stamper'  Oct 2011.

Lol, he's not learnt has he. If he wants to chuck something away, it needs to be done before you get up! That said, brilliant use of your towel hook thingy and a fab card x
