Pipkin.

Well my access to the Internet has not vastly improved this week so now that  I am connected I had better type very fast!  When they built our houses in our close the designers decided it would be very pleasing to not have any lamposts  spoiling the view or BT,or Electricty cables  running overhead so everything was buried below ground. Now some 30 yrs later the wiring is brittle and also waterlogged as our village is built over  some 40 odd springs (which is why the Romans built a settlement a few miles away). Every time someone has their lines go faulty and the engineers  go down the underground hole to fix them they invariably break another wire in fixing the first one  or have to pump the water out before work commences. It does mean that we play cat and mouse with the phone and internet when the weather is particulary wet.

Anyway here is one of the projects I have been busy on. This is an Elf on the Shelf that I have made for my Son's chlidren. We had a text earltier this evening to say he is already getting up to tricks and planning to cause mayhem when they wake up in the morning!.
A slightly different design (I make my own pattern up)  to the one that I made for 'Sweet Cheeks'  last year (who is also in situ and planning some more mischief so we are told). I already have a pre order for another for next year along with two more advent calendars. Pipkin has been made with left overs from the material used on last years calendars and his bell is from one of the cat collars that my cats used to wear.  Hair is a snippet of fur fabric and his boots from a scrap of black felt.  Face has been painted using my Jo Sonja
matt acrylics, oh and his cheeks are a  spot of my lipstick that he helped himself to!!

Not sure what the Roolz are that he is busy writing up  but I did catch him sliding down the bannisters a couple of times before he went up 'North'

Would like to enter him into the following:
Pixie's Crafty Workshop: Crafty Snippets #48.
Shopping Our Stash: Odds and ends to use up (listed as above).
Challenges 4 Everybody: Anything Goes.
Tuesday Alchemy: Anything Goes.

What a cutie!!! You are sooo clever making this without even a pattern. Pipkin looks as if butter wouldn't melt in his mouth sitting quietly on "the shelf" do you have parquet walls in the homes of your waterlogged village, Mrs A??? He looks very studious about to write out his Roolz but I can see he is a mischief maker on the bannisters. At least the birdies will hear him coming if he goes stalking in the garden. Of course if silent kitty gets there first... Hugs, Lesley

HI Mrs A!! So lovely to see you posting - Pipkin is adorable, and you really are such a clever little sausage making him. He looks poised for mischief - so I'll be on the alert wiv me rear view mirrors in the Playground.

Ack hope your internet etc. probs don't keep you away from us too often - having lived in the relative wilds of Northumberland I was delighted to finally not have to worry about overhead lines coming down. But I guess they can be repaired relatively quickly by comparison.

Do you wanna homing pigeon loft in the Playground? We seem to have everything else, sigh.

Hugs, Di xx

Ah! Nice to see some more pics of Pipkin but I hadn't realised he was going up t'North! Not sure he is too comfy after sliding down the banisters!!
I hope he doesn't get the kiddies into too much trouble or else Santa may put them on the Naughty List!
As for the OAP Concert, I can do a Highland Fling and Flora if you like though the stage will need to be reinforced for my dancing!!
Great idea but hope the frost stays away.

Pipkin is so animated, Mrs. A. What a fabulous job you've done! For all the world, he looks to me like he is saying, "Who, me? I dint do nuffin." Mr. Innocent, my foot!!

Thanks for the invite to the concert. I'd love to come! With all my personalties, I can do puppet readings and limitations. I mean imitations. Perhaps you should send the car 'round.

What a clever, darling new houseguest. His expression personifies mischief in the most adorable way, and I love how he "participates" in family life and doesn't just sit around looking cute. Everyone should be so lucky as to have one like him. :) Thank you so much for joining us at Tuesday Alchemy!

Pipkin is going to be as well loved as Elfvis is. Sweet Cheeks was in years earlier as he doesn't want him to go home on 24 December! X

Hope the elf is being good!!! Somehow methinks that might be asking too much!!! He is an elf after all.

Email me at scrappymo1@gmail.com and I will forward you how I resolved my problem with resizing... Jules at Always With W Heart had the same problem and wrote an excellent post about it in the last 2 weeks.

Pipkin is just about the most adorable little guy I have seen this season. How clever you are to have done the pattern, then made him up with all the bits & pieces you mentioned. I think he will be one of your grands Christmas fav's, and to know that Granma created him just for them...on my gracious...a true heirloom. Don't fergit yer cup now, heah? Hugs
