Workdesk Wednesday No 87.

Normal services have been resumed. This is my desk at 2am this morning so technically its Wedensday. I went downstairs to get a biscuit and when I came back I found Monkey using the lamp on my sewing machine as a sun bed!! The cheek of it.

The heart is for a valentine swap. I have made 4 altogether in different sizes and this is the last one waiting to be embellished. I had a small 2"piece of lace left over from the others and wait for it I've stitched my 1st piece of randomness. Yes! I sewed it on without rhyme nor reason and without turning in the raw edges across the gap where I put the stuffing in. I drew the line at leaving the threads hanging.(Sorry Sherry just couldn't do it).
The punch is out because I need to make my last ace card and I thought the shape vaugely resembled the club. Laid out to the right of the punch are some blues/greens ribbons and shot silk pieces that I will be using for a mini fabric collage. I have some ideas on what to do and am just playing around with layering and seeing how the colours gel.
If you'd like to have a snoop on other desks then head on over to Julia's blog Stampingground.
and see what everyone else is up to.

Love seeing your sewing projects! When I took sewing in school, I got a "D" on my report card, so I'm always envious of anyone with this skill! Sue #83

LOL about the monkey - and thank goodness he was just sunning himself - for a minute I thought you were in the process of sewing his mouth up!

Oh your hearts are looking fab - I enlarged the photo and saw the other three hanging up - your swap partner is lucky!!

Glad to hear you're stitching randomly - we'll soon have you leaving those loose ends hanging - one step at a time!

I hope monkey had at least Factor 20 on him...you don't want him fried! (Oops, I see Faye beat me to it.)

Now Bagpuss I can understand, and you've explained Wimpey (bless his little fraidy cat self). But Wrapper? Please explain...

I see you stumbled upon my decoupage vice. I hate to tell you, but the secret shopping source for decoupage paper is....car boots. Loads of art books, old illustrated children's books and dictionaries for pennies. Can't beat it, although OH wishes that he could get up later at the weekends in the summer. Bless his little sleepy head.

You know, when I see your sewing projects, I am always in awe and wishing I can do so as well but we know how that worked out. But it's so inspiring to visit your blog. A monkey - how cute is that! I'll be sending you an e-mail!:-) You really bring crafting to a new level and surround all of us with so much joy that is beyond the paper world - thank you for doing that! You're absolutely MARVELOUS!

cute monkey - though before I read the post I didn't thought he was being tortured/impaled on the needle of the machine.

LOL - methinks I need to have a look at your old posts to see what else Monkey has been up to! Whereabouts in Hampshire are you? Although I live in Wilts, I work in Fordingbridge.... Thanks for stopping by!

now going back to your desk, see you in a minute!

You have made some gorgeous things. The heart is beautiful and I pat you on the back for being random. I know all about random and also I like dangling threads. You may get to like them too if you leave enough danglers.

Have a lovely evening

tags and where did I buy them???...I typed my WOYWW post Tuesday night...and I said I bought them yesterday , so that would have been monday...and I wanted those Pink Petticoat papers free with the mag....(even tho' I have the download...) so that must mean I bought them in the newsagents where I got the mag! I thought they were a good price as in out Post Office you only get three!! anyway, they have bargains, but usually once they are gone...they are gone!

aw...monkey is naughty isn't he...I came into my crafty room one night to find that everything was inn a heap as though all the papers and stamps were having a party!
Ps...I'll have a lookie see tomorrow, to see if they still have some

LOVE the monkey... really made me laugh! and what a glorious workdesk.... so many yummy pieces. I've yet to master stitching randomly but, as you know, am quite expert at leaving hanging threads (lol) But, as Sherry said "one step at a time" and you'll get there in the end!!

Be warned - watch that monkey or he will take over the room and be into every cupboard!! I love your tags on the earlier post.

I love those hearts. You have just reminded me that I used to make velvet hearts (the material came from an evening skirt that was no longer needed) with lace round. I used to fill them with lavender. By the way, thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a lovely message. Could you use your UFO for a grandchild or finish it to put away for a great grandchild as an heirloom? I may show you my other major UFO next week....
