Work Desk Wednesday 88

All at sixes and sevens this week as we had a phone call last Saturday that FIL had been taken into hospital seriously ill and as he lives a 100miles away this has meant that Hubby has needed to go up and down the motor way to visit. He has just gone back down today so I'm now trying to catch up on everything since the Weekend.

This is my workdesk this morning. I did manage to post off a swap parcel yesterday for my partner Angela in the Fabric Collage swap. Hope that she likes it as I'm very unsure about it. Forayed into unclear waters on the technique of shabby chic.
So on my desk today an empty box and some heart material that I need to magic into a handbag of some sorts. On the right a pile of material for another ScrappyMug Rug swap and in the middle Monkey sporting a sore nose cos he burnt it (last wednesday) using my sewing machine as a sun bed! Serves him right.
If you want to see what I made with the punch go back a post and forward a post to see the finished pile of hearts that are now with my swap partner.
Below is a glimpse of Wimpey hiding up the side of the washing machine.

He was hoodwinked into visiting the vets yesterday for his yearly jabs/mot. At first signs of the basket appearing again he will be back behind the washing machine which is where he normally resides.
If you want cheering up on this drab dreary Wednesday then go and see what the rest of the bunch are up to at Julia's blog.

Tee Hee Mr. Monkey! I see you've covered up his sun source and hope he feels better soon along with your FIL. Wimpey is a clever feline. Is this a before or after vet visit...he/she looks a bit miffed! (rightfully so, those blasted shots)
Happy WOYWW Mrs A!

So sorry to hear about your father in law. I hope everything will be ok.
Had to laugh at Wimpey! He certainly doesn't look happy. My cats usually disappear under the bed and it's the devil's own job to get them out!

I hope your FIL makes a speedy recovery xx
Poor old Monkey with his plastered nose - but he looks happier than sad old Wimpey, still no doubt he'll forgive you soon - probably when it's time for the next feed - lol.

(I'm still not woywwing this week, but if you're interested all that's on my desk presently is a scarf from Next which I bought in a charity shop at the weekend and which I'm in the process of taking apart as it consists of some lovely sari ribbon and woolly fibres which'll make great hair!)

Speaking of cats, I found one today with his own blog!

Sorry to hear about your FIL, hope he's on the mend soon. Happy WOYWW, didn't have time to join in myself this week, but couldn't resist a good nosey around anyway. Great creative workspace.

Sorry to hear about your FIL, Mrs A. Sending my best wishes that they can make him comfortable, and also good thoughts to you and The Doc.

On a much lighter note, I am sure I have seen that look on Wimpey's face before. I think it was the last time my OH had to do something he didn't like...or when he found there was no chocklit in the house. Hope young Monkey has learned the lesson about too much sun!

Hi Mrs A,
Hope FIL is on the mend soon. Monkey better be more careful! Thanks for visiting. The pink container next to my copics holds all of my packets of adhesive rhinestones. The chain is part of a necklace that has a dragon charm that is a fix-it job for Master 7! My desk is never free from children's repairs!! As for Miss 5's first day of school she had 'the best day ever' and was disappointed when her Dad and I were there after school to collect her. She thought her Auntie was picking her up. I know she loves me really!

Hope that your FIL gets better soon. Poor kitty looks a shell shocked. Mine hate the carrier coming out too! I hate to say it but that monkey got a lesson in not sticking your nose in unless invited to do so. Like on WOYWW!

Dear Mrs A! :-)

While mom is busy oohing and aahing over your artwork (she especially loves your tag book - says it's very pretty and vintagey - and that very cool glassy ATC you created) - your favorite Furr Purrs are once again taking over the reins and checking in on their new buds!

Poor Wimpey. Such a beauty. We know what it is like to be sweet-talked and cajoled, only to discover that we are being toted off to the purveyor of indignity. The things they do at the vet! Is it any wonder dear Wimpey has a scowl?

Did you know that the creative theme at Inspiration Alley this week is Furry? You should enter your sidebar portraits there!

Oh well, time to bid a fond adieu as mom has run out of blog to explore. Til next time, we shall remain secret blogging buddies!

One very cross looking cat. I guess you will not be forgiven for a while. One of our dogs had a minor op on Monday, just where his collar would fit. He has been going nuts trying to scratch it with the result that he was back at the vet with an infected wound. However he is quite happy now to take his tablet wrapped up in cheese. Maybe cheese would work for Wimpey - all our cats could hear the cheese paper from the bottom of the garden and would be there before it landed on the plate.

Not to add to the bad mood Wimpey must feel after the vet visit, but his scowl has me giggling!
Hope your FIL is on the mend! Star 102
